Learning Together Builds Strong Bonds

As the school year comes to an end, I can’t help reflecting on the past. My daughter started the two-way Spanish immersion program in Kindergarten. Now as she finishes her first year of middle school I realize what a strong connection she has with those who have gone through the program alongside her. It’s an eclectic group of kids, from very diverse backgrounds. What they all have in common is they have learned from and alongside each other to read, write and speak in both Spanish and English. I believe this bond is stronger than most because of the challenges they faced and overcame as a group. I couldn’t help but capture this picture of a small group of them at my house having dinner after working on a science project/presentation. Please share any year end school stories. I’d love to hear them.
