We will never forget this day back in 2001. Americans are resourceful and willing to help their fellow man in time of need. I felt so grateful this past weekend as my daughter (7th grader) and her friend wanted to do something for the victims of Hurricane Harvey. Images of devastation and stories of displaced pets prompted them to have a bake sale. After earning $85 they went to the local pet store, Pets Plus and purchased food, treats and toys for dogs and cats. The store then takes the items and ships everything to animal victims in Texas. Isn’t that the true lesson of life?

We can’t always prevent tragedy, but we surely can step up and lend a hand.
